6 of the Most Instagrammable Spots in Kelowna

Kelowna is touted as being one of the most beautiful places in all of Canada – and for very good reason!

The stunning mountain views, the lush orchards, the plethora of crystal-blue waterfalls and lakes… there’s so much to see in Kelowna and its surrounding areas, which is a huge part of the allure for locals and visitors alike.

Whether you’re looking for that perfect summer background for today’s Instagram post or would like to snap some family shots to keep in the albums for years to come, we’ve got you covered with some of the most aesthetically pleasing spots near Trailhead at the Ponds.

Bear Creek Provincial Park

This gorgeous outdoor park is filled to the brim with amazing hiking trails, and lush greenery, and is also home to one of Kelowna’s most popular campgrounds.

However, the star of the show is undoubtedly the waterfalls cascading along Bear Creek itself. These pristine falls, in combination with the rock formations and spidery overgrowth, make for some of the most incredible photos!

Plan accordingly though if you’re looking to get up close and personal! The trail leading up to the falls is unmarked on official maps, so you’ll want to make sure that you have a good idea of where you’re going before you start your adventure.

Okanagan Lavender and Herb Farm

This eight-acre, eco-friendly farm hosts a stunning array of plants and herbs, and the variety of colours, textures, and scents is out of this world!

The Lavender Farm is just on the outskirts of town, and while visitors are welcome to wander through the property all year round, we recommend visiting in the early summer – as this is when the fresh purple lavender is in bloom!

Not only will your photos be breathtakingly brilliant, but you can stop by the on-site shop and pick up some of their homegrown and additive-free botanical products on your way out.

Mission Hill Family Estate Winery

While Kelowna is home to a large number of picturesque wineries, Mission Hill has quickly risen to the top of the list in terms of quality and scenic beauty.

This historic winery overlooks Lake Okanagan, the mountain ranges, and, of course, its stunning vineyards that go on for miles! It also hosts modern buildings with eclectic architecture, a famous amphitheatre, and a top-tier restaurant (if you’re looking to get those aesthetic food pictures).

City Park

Residents and visitors clamour to City Park with its abundance of stunning aesthetic offerings!

Truly, this park is a photographer’s dream with its gorgeous pond as a focal point, ample flower gardens, and mature trees that act as the perfect backdrop. Pathways intermingle amongst plenty of green space, meaning that there’s plenty of opportunity to roam and get that perfect shot.

There is an incredible amount of beauty condensed into one spot, making it a popular location for graduations, family photo sessions, weddings, and just day-to-day photo ops.

Knox Mountain Park

If you ask the locals where to go to get some amazing photos, Knox Mountain Park is usually the first place that passes their lips.

This is Kelowna’s largest natural area park, spanning 385 hectares, and offering no shortage of pathways and trails that are a year-round staple for many folks in the area.

Knox Mountain offers incredible panoramic views of Kelowna’s cityscape as well as Okanagan Lake. Lush greenery, rocky cliffs, and a beautiful lookout point are just a few of the backdrops available for your outdoor photo op and – trust us – you won’t be disappointed by what you see beyond the lens of your camera!

Okanagan Lake

Okanagan Lake is one of the most popular locations for all kinds of photos, from weddings to graduations, and everything in between.

This pristine and expansive lake offers magnificent views of the mountain ranges, waterside beaches, and the ever-impressive Kelowna Marina! You can also head to the Rotary Marsh, a stunning park conveniently located on the lakefront.

There’s so much space on Okanagan Lake that you shouldn’t have any trouble finding your own perfect little piece of paradise for some shoreline photography sessions!
